Amanda is more than thrilled to be back home and working at KPLC-TV, the station that first inspired her to be a journalist. She says it makes the world of difference knowing she's telling stories to the people that matter most to her. She graduated from Barbe High School in 2002 and attended Northwestern State University where she graduated Cum Laude in Broadcast Journalism. Amanda was actively involved with the Journalism Department as Student Life Editor of the Potpourri (yearbook); anchor/reporter/producer for NSU 22; and host of NSU: Where Great Things Happen. After graduating from college, Amanda worked 2 years at KTBS 3 News in Shreveport as a news producer and weekend manager. But, it didn't take long for her to miss Southwest Louisiana.
Amanda likes to spend her free time with her miniature schnauzer Mister Midnight, her new nephew Braven, and her supportive parents. When she's not reporting the news, you can find Amanda helping her mom teach powertumbling and cheerleading. She also loves to sing karaoke, dance, cook, and travel. She's an alumni of Phi Mu fraternity and loves the color pink.
Again, she's so happy to be back in Lake Charles and would love to hear from you.
