Reported by The Associated Press
Federal authorities have lodged child pornography charges against a Gonzales businessman.
Daniel Charles Haist is accused in a federal complaint of trafficking child pornography via the Internet from his previous home and his business, both in Baton Rouge.
He was jailed pending a hearing. Federal authorities say they seized dozens of images of children engaged in various sex acts from the 63-year-old man's computer.
Authorities also say Haist's arrest followed a long investigation by the FBI, US Customs, Louisiana State Police and Pennsylvania State Police into Internet transmission of child pornography.
