A former US Army sergeant stationed at Fort Polk has been sentenced for downloading child pornography.

Thirty-three-year-old Scott Andrew Olson, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, will serve 33 months in prison and three years' supervised release.

Olson pleaded guilty in September 2003 to possession of child pornography.

Olson admitted to downloading child porn from the Internet onto his computer inside his Fort Polk barrack.

US Attorney Donald Washington says investigators found hundreds of ``hard-core prepubescent child pornography'' on Olson's.

Olson also had a computer program that allowed him to distribute image files in mass. Olson was given a dishonorable discharge from the US Army.
