LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Early voting for the March 27 elections began this past Saturday. Around 275 people came out to cast their votes.

Calcasieu Parish has over 125,000 registered voters, but only 60,000 are eligible for this election.

Early voting ends this Saturday. The polls are open from 8:30am to 6:30pm.  There are two locations - one is in Lake Charles at 1000 Ryan Street in Room 7 and the other is in Sulphur at Sulphur City Council Chambers on North Napoleon Street.

Angie Quienalty, who works in the Calcasieu Parish Registrar of Voters, wants to remind voters that they don't have to be absent from the parish on March 27 to vote now, and they can simply chose early voting because it's more convenient.
