LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Residents living along the Sabine River are being warned to expect major flooding today.

The Calcasieu Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness says the river could reach 4 feet above flood stage and remain that way for several days.

If you have any questions you can call the OEP office at 721-3800.

Low-lying areas are already seeing flooding, and more is expected as the river continues to rise after last week's rain.

That rain forced water to be released from the Toledo Bend Reservoir.
