LIVE WEATHER BLOG: Tracking severe storms through SWLA

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - 6:36 p.m.: According to the 7 News Weather Team the severe weather is over and the threat has passed for SWLA.

6:15 p.m.: A Westlake viewer has submitted photos of rainfall and flooding near their home.

The photos show the water levels rising on Bagdad Road in Westlake.

6:10 p.m.: Louisiana State Police are reporting that a two vehicle accident is blocking traffic on the I-210 bridge on the westbound side. There are no reports of injuries at this time.

If you are traveling in this direction taking an alternate route is advised while authorities work to clear the accident.

6:00 p.m.: More storm damage is being reported in DeQuincy today. According to Doug Phillips with DeQuincy Police, two large tree limbs fell on top of a car on Yoakum Street. The car was parked in the owners driveway. The owner was inside at the time. No injuries have been reported.

5:40 p.m.: Power outages are affecting more than 8,700 in Southwest Louisiana. For updated numbers click HERE.

5:20 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Allen, Evangline, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon Parish until 6:00 p.m.

5:15 p.m.: According to Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam Craft there have been several reports of storm damage in Leesville and New Llano. In Leesville there is a power line down near U.S. 171 and W. Singleton Street. Traffic is being detoured at this time. Stanton Road in New Llano also has some reported trees and power lines down, said Craft.

5:00 p.m.: A KPLC viewer has submitted a photo of the Marina near Isle of Capri and I-10.

4:50 p.m.: A viewer in Moss Bluff has submitted photos of storm damage. A tree has fallen on the home and into parts of the house. Photos can be seen below.

4:25 p.m.: Traffic remains clear on most major roadways in Calcasieu Parish at this time.

4:05 p.m.: A KPLC viewer in Elton sent us a photo of a downed tree in her yard. The resident says the wind caused the tree to fall.
