LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Through the rest of the day, it will be very cloudy with no breaks in the clouds. We will not see any sunshine today. Most of the rain is gone, but we will still likely see a few showers over the next couple hours. Through the afternoon, it would not be a bad idea to have your umbrella. Temperatures will warm up to the lower 60s.
This evening, the rain chances will still be limited. I can’t rule out a little drizzle in a few places, so I am keeping a 20% chance of rain. It will not be the greatest evening to do anything outdoors. Temperatures will be tolerable. They will be around the lower 60s to the upper 50s.
Overnight, I have the rain chances up to 30%. There will be a few small showers around. It will mostly be light rain, but a few heavier showers are possible in the morning. There may even be a couple thunderstorms as well. I do not expect any severe weather, though. Temperatures overnight will cool down to the mid 50s shortly after midnight but will then increase the rest of the night. By sunrise, temperatures should be in the 60s.
Friday will have lower rain chances, but rain is still possible. I have the rain chances up to 30%. That stalled front will be a little farther north taking most of the rain with it. Winds will be out of the south, which could help spark a couple stray showers. The winds will also help temperatures will warm up to the mid 70s.
That next cold front will come this next weekend. Most of the rain will be out ahead of the front, so Saturday will have the best chance of rain. I am keeping the rain chance up to 70%. There will be rain likely just about any time of the day. The good news is I don’t expect anything severe. This will not be a great day to do anything outdoors. Temperatures prior to the front will be in the mid 70s, while after the front, temperatures will fall to the 40s overnight.
There is some indication about this front clearing all the rain and clouds. So, by Sunday, the weather will be very nice! Sunday will likely be a very beautiful and sunny day. I am skeptical of how much sunshine we will see. At the very least, I do not expect any rain all day! Temperatures will be near 70 degrees for the afternoon high.
As you might expect, that cold front that passed through Saturday will stall over the Gulf of Mexico and will head back in our direction. That cold front will become a warm front and pass over us on Monday. This will bring more rain, of course. I have the rain chances up to 30%.
This will also carry over into Tuesday with more rain. The warm front will be weakening, so there may not be as much rain. Before too long next week, I do expect another cold front to push that front out of our way. We will have to wait a little bit to know the timing.
