LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Through the rest of the evening clouds stick around and dense fog remains an issue over the Gulf of Mexico with an advisory issued until 6 am tomorrow morning. We do have a slight chance for rain into the evening hours, but so far radar not indicating anything across SWLA or off shore. With winds forecast to shift out of the south again overnight patchy fog is likely to develop. This fog could become dense in southern portions of the viewing area especially along coastal areas.

Rain chances are in the forecast through most of the day tomorrow with a cold front pushing through the area. This front does look mostly dry with hit or miss showers through the morning hours as the cold front moves through. We do see some showers lingering behind the cold front, but again those are looking isolated as well. Temperatures are forecast to get up to the 70s even with the passage of the cold front. We don’t see that cool down until the overnight hours with lows falling into the 50s and helping decrease humidity.

Monday rain chances have fallen just a bit as the next cold front isn’t moving as quickly as initially forecast. Showers that develop during the day are going to be isolated in nature with temperatures only getting to the low 60s through the afternoon. We’ll see that high temperature quickly climb into the day on Tuesday getting into the upper 60s by the afternoon with rain chances at 60% as well. This rain chance develops as moisture moves in off the Gulf.

Wednesday we see our next cold front sweep through the area with increased rain chances yet again at a 60% chance. Much of the same into Thursday with moisture lingering behind the cold front. Temperatures both of these days climb into the low 60s through the afternoon hours.

We’ll see a warm up into the weekend with highs in the upper 60s Friday and low 70s on Saturday with rain chances at 20% and 30%, respectively.

With rain chances in the forecast everyday this next week accumulation could become an issue. But, thankfully the heaviest of the rainfall is to our northeast we are only expecting between an inch to two in most locations.
