First Alert Forecast: Rain possible every day through next week
A few showers are possible, but more likely on Sunday

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Through the rest of the day, there will be more clouds than anything else. But every now and then, we will get some sunshine peeking its way through. It is also another windy day. I expect the winds to calm a little bit after sunset, but not too much. There is no rain around us, so you should not need an umbrella.

This evening, temperatures will still be very warm. I do not expect any rain, so at least it will be dry. Although, it will be humid. With the southerly winds, that has increased the dew point, and therefore the humidity has gone up. After sunset, temperatures will cool only to the mid 60s.

Overnight, it will be cloudy once again. There will be some broken clouds. So, every now and then, we might be able to see the moon and stars. It will be warm and muggy with the southerly winds continuing. Temperatures will only cool to the mid 60s overnight. There is also the possibility of some morning fog. It will be patchy and not dense, but I would still use caution.

Saturday will likely have a few showers in the evening

There is a front that will take its time to pass through. I have a 20% chance of rain on Saturday, and a 30% chance of rain Sunday. I would be prepared for some showers on these days. Saturday will be the better of the two days. At least though, it will not be a washout. Temperatures will still be very warm and will reach the lower to mid 70s in the afternoon.

Next week’s weather will continue to be rainy. That cold front that pushed through over the weekend, will stall over the Gulf of Mexico. This will keep rain chances in places for Monday and Tuesday. I have those rain chances up to 60% now. It should only be rain with a couple storms possible, but no severe weather.

That stalled front will be moving over us late Monday or early in the morning on Tuesday. That will stay right over us, until another weak cold front moves through from the west. This will push the stalled front off to the east.

The next front coming from the west will keep rain chances in place on Wednesday. Since it is a Pacific cold front, I do not expect a big drop in temperatures. However, I do have a 60% chance of rain Wednesday.

There is a chance that after the front passes, the sunshine will be back. The front may linger over us on Thursday but will then move off to the east on Friday next week. It is a long way out, so that could change. We will have to wait and see. Let’s hope the sunshine does return, so we can have a beautiful end to the week!

Some bad news that there is some indication of yet another cold front arriving by Saturday next weekend. This will once again increase rain chances. Since it is a long way out, I am keeping the rain chances down to only 30%. So, these days of rainy weather will continue for the next week or so. Keep that umbrella handy!
