Sulphur man faces counts of obscenity, meth possession after incident near school

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - A Sulphur man faces counts of obscenity and methamphetamine possession after an incident near a school Tuesday.

Kim Myers, spokesperson for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, said authorities received calls around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday from several people in reference to a half-naked man near an elementary school in Sulphur.

Deputies found Russell J. Guidry Jr., 37, on the ground with his pants down around his ankles, Myers said. Deputies learned Guidry had meth in his possession.

Guidry was transported to a local hospital. Upon his release, he will be booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center on counts of obscenity and possession of CDS II (methamphetamine), Myers said. Bond has not been set.

Sr. Cpl. Austin Fusilier was the arresting deputy.
