Georgia man arrested in Calcasieu for allegedly having sex with missing minor from Dallas

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Georgia man has been arrested in Calcasieu Parish after allegedly having sex with a missing teen from Dallas, according to Kim Myers with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began when the Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office was advised that a missing 16-year-old female from Dallas may be in the area. Deputies were able to locate the girl at a hotel off of Moeling Street. After the female was taken into custody, detectives learned that Kelby T. Royster, 25, of Atlanta, Georgia, was at the hotel with the girl.

When detectives questioned Royster, he told deputies he had sex with the girl. Royster was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center on of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Judge Robert Wyatt set his bond at $25,000.

The juvenile female has been released to Texas Child Protective Services.
