KINDER, LA (KPLC) - An Allen Parish woman was arrested after allegedly kidnapping her own child.
The investigation began on Feb. 3 when the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office got a call from the Department of Children and Family Services that an infant in their custody was abducted by the biological mother. She was identified as Tonya Courville.
Allen Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division began trying to locate the suspect. Once Courville was located with the missing infant she was detained. Officers found Courville to have suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia on her in the presence of the infant.
Courville is facing charges of simple kidnapping, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal use of drugs in the presence of a juvenile. Her bond has been set at $14,000.
