TSA phasing out pointy-eared working dogs

(KPLC) - The next time you go through airport security, you may be greeted by a cute, floppy-eared working dog.

The Transportation Safety Administration is increasingly replacing pointy-eared dogs with floppy eared breeds. Especially in jobs where the dogs interact directly with passengers.

TSA officials say floppy eared breeds have a friendlier look and they don’t cause people to shy away as much. Apparently passengers perceive pointy eared dogs as being more aggressive and less friendly.
