Two arrested in Sulphur drug bust

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - Sulphur Police said they have arrested two people after a drug bust at a local business.

According to police, Derrick Burnworth was arrested on warrants and Rhonda Yanes was arrested on drug and narcotics charges after a search warrant found drugs and drug paraphernalia in Twice Golden Resale, a business off of W. Roddam Street.

A detective said it appears that the business was being used as a front to distribute drugs.

“We received a complaint about narcotics as this business behind us and open execution of a search warrant we located large quantities of heroine, meth, and pills.” Detective Ryan Arnold with Sulphur Police said.

Authorities say they began their investigation after witnesses saw two men wearing ski masks carrying a backpack in front of the business late Monday night.
