DERIDDER, LA (KPLC) - The DeRidder Police Department is searching for a man accused of attempted second-degree murder.

DPD received a call from a female saying that she was held captive, beaten, cut with a knife, and that a suspect shot at her while she was in her apartment around 9:15 a.m. After eleven hours the female was able to escape from the apartment and was transported to the hospital.

The suspect, identified as Terrance Jerome Jones, 33, of DeRidder, fled the apartment and is believed to be armed with a .22 caliber handgun.

Jones is considered armed and dangerous. The DeRidder Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
