CPSO asking for public’s help identifying theft suspect

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a theft suspect from a Sulphur business, according to spokesperson Kim Myers.

Several pieces of equipment and machinery were reported stolen from the South Cities Service Highway location on Jan. 2.

Deputies reviewed surveillance video from the incident and saw a man cut through the chain-link fence at 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2018, Myers said.

The tape then showed the suspect driving a white two-door truck through the gate and then using a business forklift to load a diesel generator and two arc welders into the back of the truck. The suspect drove off with the stolen equipment.

Myers asked anyone with information regarding this crime to contact lead Det. Ross Vartuli at 337-491-7981.
