LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - DOTD’s I-210 construction officially began Jan. 8, and the traffic commutes have been lengthy, according to our viewers.

One driver complained that the drive from Ryan Street to I-210 took over an hour. Another said the commute from Louisiana Avenue to Nelson Road was an hour drive.

Others said traveling from Lake Street to Nelson Road was an hour drive. And one more mentioned that it took 45 minutes to get to the roundabout on Prien Lake Road.

I-210 near Prien Lake Road and I-10 near the bridge have dealt with slow traffic all morning, according to Google Maps. One accident was reported near Ryan Street.
