Police searching for Jennings man in connection with child abuse investigation

JENNINGS, LA (KPLC) - The Jennings Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a Jennings man who is wanted in connection with a child abuse investigation.

Justin Brock King is accused of abusing a 5-year-old girl while babysitting her, according to a post made on the Jennings Police Facebook page.

On Dec. 30, officers began investigating a complaint of cruelty to a juvenile. During the investigation officers found out that the child had “extensive injuries” on her face, head, and body. The victim was brought to a local hospital where it was determined the injuries were consistent with abuse. King was babysitting the child at the time the injuries were sustained.

Upon further investigation it was revealed that King was a suspect in a 2016 abuse case of an 11-month-old baby.

The infant injury incident happened on Sept. 23, 2016. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report that an infant was admitted to the hospital with a swollen head, said Chief Deputy Chris Ivey, Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman. Hospital records showed that the infant had two skull fractures. The child’s mother, along with King, were arrested in connection with that investigation. 7 News is working to determine the status of that case and will update this story with details when they become available.

A warrant has been issued for King’s arrest. He is known to be in the Jennings, Crowley, Turkey Creek, and Ville Platte area. If you have any information regarding this case you’re asked to call 33-821-5513.
