NFL scouts taking notice of McNeese linebacker BJ Blunt

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - 93 tackles, 11 sacks, and 20 tackles for a loss through 9 weeks are just some of BJ Blunt’s stats on the year. Head coach Lance Guidry says you have to put him up there amongst the best linebackers to ever come out of McNeese.

“We had a guy from the Saints and two guys from the Colts. We’re starting to get a lot more people coming down here to look at him. The word is getting out on the kind of player he is. Everyone is talking the same thing, they think he would be a good special teams guy. A lot of times guys don’t realize to make it on teams you have to play special teams and that’s what BJ is willing to do", Guidry said.

“It’s amazing. It’s something that I have been grinding for since I was a kid. Having the guy from the Senior Bowl at the game. I think I get over looked a lot, but coach Guidry tells me not to worry about it and my numbers will show it. I just try to go out there and play every down like its my last", Blunt said.

The scouting attention isn’t something new for Blunt, having had it heavily coming out of high school, junior college, and now McNeese.
