LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a Houston man for setting his brother’s car on fire, which also damaged a nearby business in Vinton, according to Ashley Rodrigue with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal Office.

Won Hui Lee, 48, was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Jail on Nov. 7, on one count of simple arson.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says it was contacted by the Vinton Fire Department to assist with determining the origin of a vehicle fire in the 1400 block of Gum Cove Road on Nov.1 . Exterior lights on the gas station convenience store, which was six feet from where the car was parked, received heat damage from the vehicle fire.

A burned metal bucket containing charcoal, discovered in the vehicle’s passenger seat, was determined to be the cause of the fire, says a post from the Office of State Fire Marshal.

Investigators say Lee, who was found with the car, admitted to firefighters and deputies that he lit the bucket on fire.

Lee was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and upon release, he was taken into custody.
