LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of Julie A. McQuilliams and now faces sentencing, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Richard Douglas Westbrook, 40, originally faced charges of second-degree murder after his arrest for a stabbing on Landfair Street in Feb. 2017. McQuilliams, 47, was found dead in the road with multiple stab wounds, according to Sgt. Jeff Keenum with Lake Charles Police.
The DA’s Office says Westbrook is sentenced to 40 years in prison. Read the full story HERE.
