One statewide race, nine local races in runoffs in Dec. 8 election

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - One statewide race and nine local races are headed to runoffs in the Dec. 8 election.

The Ward 3 City Marshal and the mayorships of DeQuincy and Iowa all ended up in runoffs following Tuesday’s vote.

A runoff occurs when no candidate receives a majority of the vote.

Nov. 7 is the deadline to register to vote in person or by mail for the Dec. 8 election. Nov. 17 is the deadline to register to vote online for the Dec. 8 election.
