LCPD looking for drive-by shooting suspects

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Lake Charles Police Department is searching for suspects reportedly involved in two drive-by shootings, according to Lt. Kevin Kirkum.

Kirkum said that LCPD responded to the area of 11th Street and Fourth Avenue in reference to shots fired, around 7 a.m. on Oct. 22. Upon arrival, officers learned that no one was injured and the unknown suspects fled the scene.

Later that day, around 10 a.m., officers responded to the area of Rose Street and Seventh Avenue in reference to shots fired, according to Kirkum. Officers located a vehicle that had been struck by gun fire upon arrival.

Investigation revealed that both drive-by shootings may have been committed by the same unknown suspect or suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
