LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Through the rest of this afternoon expect plentiful sunshine!
Lows tonight drop into the 50s and clouds begin to move in from the West. Clouds stick around through the day on Monday with rain chances down to 20% and the bulk of that small chance is concentrated south of the I-10 corridor. With lots of clouds temperatures will struggle to get into the 70s through the afternoon.
Clouds stick around overnight and lows dip into the 50s. A low pressure system in the Rio Grande Valley begins to move north/northeast towards our area increasing rain chances through the day. Again, the main chance for rain on Tuesday is concentrated south of the I-10 corridor.
The greatest chance for rain this week comes late in the evening on Wednesday and lingers through the morning on Thursday. Unfortunately, this system is not associated with a cold front, so no drop in temperatures is expected later this week. After this low pressure system moves out of the area we will see ample sunshine into next weekend.
Temperatures are expected to get back into the mid to upper 70s by late next week as the next cold front to sweep across the US stays well to our North.
