FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Cool and cloudy with another cold front coming this weekend
Grant Roberts forecast

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Wednesday will be another cloudy day with cool temperatures. There should not be many breaks in the clouds, so it will be a gloomy day with no sunshine. The good news is that the rain should hold off. I have a 20% chance for a couple small showers, but overall, it will just be cloudy with no rain. The temperature will only warm up to the id to upper 60s.

Through the evening hours, not much will change. The clouds will still be around, and the temperature will still be in the 60s. Some places north of I-10 may be in the 50s. So, if you have any outdoor plans, I would keep a jacket handy. At least you will not need an umbrella.

Overnight, we will continue to have mostly cloudy conditions. There should not be any rain, though I do have at least a 10% chance of a couple isolated showers. The temperature will continue cooling down a few degrees. Lows overnight will be in the 50s north of I-10 and closer to 60 degrees along the I-10 corridor. Fog could also become an issue again, so use caution in the morning.

There could be some sunshine that peeks through on Thursday

Then on Thursday, I think there is a slightly better chance for the sun to finally peek through the clouds. There will still be a lot of clouds, but I think there will be breaks in those clouds. The rain chances will be lower, so it will be a nice break from the rain. The temperature will warm up a little and will be in the 70s in the afternoon.

On Friday, there will be more rain. That cold front that pushed through on Monday, has since stalled out over Gulf of Mexico. So, by Friday, the stalled front will move north and get close to Southwest Louisiana. Therefore, the rain chances will go back up to 40%. It looks more likely for the rain to take place in the afternoon and evening. Right now, it does not look good for Friday Night Football. I do not think it will be a washout though.

Saturday will have our next cold front arrive
Saturday will have our next cold front arrive

This weekend will bring another cold front. This front will bring some rain by Saturday. It should be very scattered and not a washout. Rain chances are up to 40%. Sunday will start out very nice! There will be lots of sunshine in the morning, then the clouds will return in the afternoon. Highs on Sunday will be in the lower 70s.

Early next week looks to be very nice with our weather. Some of the clouds will clear away and the sunshine should return. There is also little to no chance for rain. Plus, the temperatures will be in the lower 70s in the afternoon. So, it should be a great start to next week!

No potential development in the tropics is expected in the next five days
No potential development in the tropics is expected in the next five days

Good news about the tropics is that they have calmed down. There is no potential development in the next five days anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, or the Atlantic. This is more of what we like to see!
