State police identify victim of fatal Allen Parish crash as 30-year-old Eunice man
A Eunice man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on US 190, east of Kinder, early Wednesday morning.

KINDER, LA (KPLC) - State police have identified the victim of a fatal Allen Parish crash as a 30-year-old Eunice man.

James M. Richardson was killed after the 2005 Saturn Ion he was driving crossed the center line and collided with a 2016 Ford Mustang, according to Trooper Derek Senegal, spokesman for Louisiana State Police Troop D.

Senegal said Richardson was driving westbound on US 190, east of Kinder, around 5 a.m. at the time of the crash. Richardson wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen Parish Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the Mustang, 21-year-old Daniel K. Poole, of Duson, received minor injuries.

Routine toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers, according to Senegal. The crash remains under investigation.

Troop D has investigated 21 traffic deaths in 2018.
